Chinese restrictions delay stock... Again 😢
Chinese Coronavirus restrictions are causing speedcube delays - Shenzhen locked down.
Welp - it feels a bit like déjà vu here at Speedcube.co.nz, as we're facing severe stock shortages due to the ongoing global coronavirus situation.
As I've been working hard to recover from the hits we've taken domestically here in NZ, I've been building towards a comprehensive restock of all our core products, which I just pressed go on: at exactly the same time as China locked down one of it's major tech and financial hubs, Shenzhen, near Hong Kong 🤦♂️
Shenzhen is part of a major distribution line for most major shipping companies exporting from China, and the short version of what this means for me is that I have thousands of cubes stuck in China that I can't get access to 😢
What this means is that the store is going to continue to look a little bleak for the next few weeks while we A. wait for the restrictions in China to cease and B. wait for the backlog of cargo to leave China. I am hopeful that we will see things arriving in early April.
I want to take this opportunity to thank all my customers for their support over this past 12 months, which have been the most challenging we've faced in business. I do remember thinking that it couldn't get much worse after I was unable to ship parcels in March 2020, but I've been proved wrong multiple times since then!
We will bounce back from this, but it will take time and patience. In the meantime, you can help me out by subscribing to my YouTube channel and watching lots of videos, and sharing speed cubing with your friends and family so that we're in the best possible position to succeed when stock does arrive.
